Went camping (yes again) fri-sat. Went bouldering at Enchanted Rock State Park. I haven't been climbing in years. I did ok, but boy was I sore and scraped. But it felt good to feel so worn out. I also managed to actually walk all the way to the top of the rock. I didnt have the stamina for that last year.

Well I have been in TX now 1.5 yrs, and this past weekend I finally had visitors. 5 of my really good friends from San Diego came out for the weekend. We ate and drank and ate and drank, listened to live music, ate, drank, took a tour, ate, drank. We slept a bit and then they left. I miss them so much.

The weather was overcast and cool the whole weekend. Right after they left, the rain and lightning and thunder started. Then Monday it was in the 80s, and I got to get my motorcycle out and I rode to work.

I am looking forward to the TxBash, where I can finally meet all the people I have been reading.

I am trying to be more diligent in posting here.

I am still here, slackin' as usual! Its been a few months since my last post. Not too much is new in the big scheme of things. Short term, I have dropped 20 lbs. I would like it to be more, before I go to Steamboat Springs, Colorado next month for snow boarding! I have been trying to fly (airplanes) too, but every time I schedule, the weather ends up sucking. SO not much is new.... blah blah blah...

I have been slackin' writing in here. I have been putting in the long hours at work, so I cant wait til the damn project is done. When it is over (another month?) I will have the BIG decision as to whether to stay in Austin or move (again, sigh). I like the town well enough, but my social life is sorely lacking. Am I too picky? I dont think so, but I am sure of what I like and can tolerate. I am so ready to settle down, and would love to have family, but, alas, I dont even date much, so not much chance of it happening soon.

Lonliness sucks, I have had several 'big' relationships in my life, and I definately enjoy being a couple rather than a single. Everyone who knows me, tells me what a great catch I'd make, but I dont even seem to notice the bait, let alone get caught. I wonder what I am doing wrong.

Can you tell I just spent another night alone?

Got a call at 6am, a friend wanting to have breakfast... She is Bi-Polar / Manic-Depressive, so I dont chastise her for calling that early. Normally I am up at that hour, but I didnt get to bed, let alone sleep, til almost 230am.

Went out to an early breakfast or, as my Australian friend calls it, brekkie, came home, sat on the couch and promptly fell asleep until 130 in the afternoon. Nobody did my laundry while I was sleeping :-(

Later this evening, I am going with my outdoors club to dinner in at the SaltLick in Hays county (about an hour south of here). I hear its really really really good Texas Barbeque. For those not familiar with Texas "que" it is wonderful. The meats (brisket, pork loin, turkey, chicken, sausage) are smoked, never seeing direct heat, for hours over mesquite. Yum.

I have been invited to 2 parties this evening, when it rains, it pours. I am not sure if I will be back early enough for at least one, the other seems like it might be an 'all nighter', so we will see.

Enough rambling... still no one has done the laundry...

TTFN

Well, its another day. Work is still a bit slow, but the pace is picking up a bit. Mom got another hip replacement yesterday and is already "walking" on it. Dad is eating out while mom's not home. Normally he cooks, but mom doesnt let him eat the things he likes. All I know is he always ate what he liked, mom watched her diet. Dad is 84 and in great health physically and mentally, but mom is deteriorating.

Going to a happy hour tonight, its a meet and greet for new members of an activities club to which I belong.

I was gonna to Las Vegas this weekend, airfares are soooooo cheap, but there a re a couple of parties here in town that I think I'll go to instead.

I miss not being able to skydive or fly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
